Thematics : ocean & ecology, climatic change and impact of pollution.
Music video with Electro musical composition closed to an Art House exercise, inspired by French creators, produced as part of a music album inspired by the literary work of Georges Orwell. Worldwilde indie film festivals, red carpets and live screening invitations.
Aquatic athmosphere is inspired by work of ERIC SERRA, a french bassist and composer who created the music of the film BIG BLUE, music having been awarded by French cinema industry during 1989 Cesar ceremony. This film about freediving competitors has been presented during 1988 Cannes film festival. " The sound of whales has much more musicality than that of dolphins” as Eric Serra said in TV interview about composing music film :




Key with reverb is inspired by the Aquatic theme of electronic composer VANGELIS, a 1973 French documentary series soundtrack about animal kingdom named " Apocalypse of Animals ". Vangelis spent part of his career in Paris after his success with Aphrodite's Child music band. He composed many film scores, including 1982 Oscar winner for Best Original Score :

Video editing is inspired by the cinematographic vision of the French director couple Agnes JAOUI & Jean-Pierre BACRI, awarded many times by European/French cinema industries and 2004 Oscar nominee : " Directing and Video-editing are a matter of rythm and musicality " :
Same approach to directing can also be found in work of JEAN-PIERRE MELVILLE, a renowned French director who created classics of French cinema, with influence on world cinema as John Woo and Martin Scorcese. The French cinema establishment describes his work as perfectionism based on " rythm and music ". He notably collaborated with famous french music composers as Eric de Marsan and François de Roubaix :

Dystopian album cover is inspired by VICTOR VASARELY, a French artist considered as father of optical art. His visual universe evokes a psychedelic aesthetic that marked the 1960s and 1970s. The album Space Oddity, released in 1969 in UK, is the one that associates music with Victor Vasarely : On the original cover, DAVID BOWIE is superimposed on an optical work by Vasarely, from his series Planetary Folklore :




To conclude Aquarius review, remind us 1972 album of jazz saxophonist CANNONBALL ADDERLEY named SOUL ZODIAC : album is structured around the 12 signs of the zodiac. Spoken narratives link the tracks, giving the whole a meditative dimension. The album showcases artist's visionary with spiritual side and illustrates jazz's openness to cultural and philosophical concepts :

Film adapted from American dystopian novel written by Ray Bradbury in 1953 :

Another major collaboration between French cinema and American jazz is ELEVATOR TO THE GALLOWS, 1958 French crime thriller tragedy by French Louis Malle accompanied by music of MILES DAVIS trumpeter. Miles improvised almost the entire soundtrack while watching images from the film, invented a new way of making jazz and image converse :




TAXI DRIVER, a famous italo-american collaboration between MARTIN SCORCESE and Robert DE NIRO, from the working-class neighborhood of Little Italy - South Manhattan in NY. This Film received 1976 Golden Palm. Martin Scorsese is one of those directors who also consider that " cinema is like music, with rythm ". He specified that originally TAXI DRIVER piece of jazz inspired by the 40s had been rejected by the production :






ROBERT DE NIRO has paid himself tribute to 60s Italo-American culture, evoking the spirit of Little Italy : A BRONX TALE is an American film released in 1993, directed by Robert De Niro, marking his feature film directorial debut. We can note the musical contribution of jazz saxophonist BOBBY WATSON from Kansas. To conclude this review, remind us influence of the Italian music composer NINO ROTA on American and Italian cinematographic productions : music collaboration with Francis Ford Coppola on The Godfather part II film, 1975 Oscar winner for Best Original Score. Composer known for Moog synthetiser composing and layering electronic sounds with classical music :






It should not forget to mention AMADEUS, directed by Milos Forman, a fiction film about life of Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. A masterful work distinguished by its sumptuous direction, powerful storytelling and exceptional use of music. Amadeus was crowned with immense critical acclaim, winning 8 Oscars in 1985, confirming masterpiece :

For the good understanding of this film above, the word FRICK on the wall means MONEY in French. It is a video sequence on the theme of the economy which highlights inflation : full money bill burning.

Fire Thematics are inspired by punchy and neorealist first urban productions of french filmmaker JEAN-FRANCOIS RICHET, Best filmmaker awarded during 2009 French Cesars ceremony awards and his work with MEL GIBSON in competition during 2016 Cannes film festival. He specifies in an 2024 interview : essence of cinema is the art of rythm and movement. As we can find in first silent films like those of Charlie Chaplin and Louis Lumière ( the french creator of cinematography and the honorary president of the Cannes Film Festival first edition in 1939 ) :




Another inspiration is the famous french filmmaker JEAN-LUC GODARD and his film " Weekend ". It was controversial in 1967, even rejected by some audiences and critics, due to its experimental and radical content. Today, it is considered a masterpiece and a milestone in the history of modern cinema. As Godard said, " It's the margins that hold pages together " :
A reference in french cinematography about omnipresent fire scenes is SOUND & FURY film, Youth jury price winner awarded at the 1988 Cannes fillm festival. This film, centered on a French working-class neighborhood, borrows its title from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, evoking violence and chaos, accompanied by a sumptuous electronic soundtrack :

Although there is no direct evidence that English street artist Banksy was explicitly inspired by the film " Red Balloon " when creating his 2002 work named " Girl with Balloon ", visual and thematic similarities have often been noted by critics and art enthusiasts : the contrast between the bright red of the balloon and a duller environment (greyish Paris in the film, greyish londoner walls with painting) produces a strong emotional impact :

RED BALLOON, a silent film set in the working-class neighborhood of Ménilmontant, in the 20th District of East Paris : in the first scene of the video, French singer Renaud appears as a child dressed in red. Renaud would later become one of the key representative voices of working-class neighborhoods of Paris. His first album cover reminds the character of Gavroche in novel " Les Miserables " by French writer Victor Hugo :

Jobim's friend, Joao Gilberto, delved into Italian music by covering 1960 worldwide hit "Estate" of Bruno Martino, an italian pianist from Rome. The same goes for the italo-french jazzman Michel Petrucciani and american trumpeter Chet Baker who also did a cover :

Music composition in Video is inspired by brazilian Antonio Carlos Jobim, one of key figures of 60s Bossa Nova as Joao Gilberto, Vinicius de Morales and Elis Regina. " Águas de Março " is a song composed in 1972 by Antônio Carlos Jobim, now considered of one of the greatest Brazilian songs of all time :

Antonio Carlos Jobim brought a unique atmosphere to film music : in 1962, he collaborated with Italian director Stefano Vanzina on Copacabana Palace italian film. In 80s, Jobim also contributed to the soundtrack of the brazilian film Gabriela, alongside Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni, who performed one of his songs. These collaborations demonstrate Jobim's international influence, as he was able to merge the Italian and Brazilian cinematic worlds :

French vocal style is inspired by CORTEX, a French jazz-funk band founded in the 1970s, known for its unique style blending jazz, soul, and psychedelic grooves. Led by pianist Alain Mion, the group has achieved international recognition, notably thanks to its compositions, sampled by famous urban music artists as Mf Doom, Madlib, Tyler The Creator and Rick Ross :




Lyrics, written by Melodie and her French Jazz band, are inspired by song of Italo american Franck Sinatra named " Fly me to the moon ". Song written firstly in 1954 by Bart Howard, popularized by Frank Sinatra in 1964, directed and arranged by Quincy Jones specifically for the Count Basie Orchestra, renowned for its impeccable swing.
