2024 FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL - FRENCH ALLIANCE - UNIFRANCE
​​April 3, 2024 marked the start of a cinematic celebration with the long-awaited launch of the French Film Festival, by the Alliance Française in Australia, one of the most important festivals dedicated to French cinema in the world. This iconic event ran until April 16, 2024, promising to transport viewers into a world of charm, emotion and French culture through a diverse selection of 42 captivating films. Originally created in Sydney in 1990 with success, the French film festival has since expanded. After Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and other Australian cities, Byron Bay hosted the festival this year. This expansion testifies to the growing interest of Australians in French cinema.

For 26 years, the Richmond French Film Festival has gained a reputation in the United States and France, with over 450 French and French-language films screened each year. Since 2003, it has been officially recognized by the former French Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Jean-David Levitte, as the most important French film festival in USA. This festival was created and organized by Drs. Peter and Françoise Kirkpatrick, professors of French literature, culture and cinema at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond. The festival has distinguished itself over the years with numerous North American premiere screenings, including several world premieres. The films are screened at the historic Byrd Theatre in Richmond, Virginia. A reception with French celebrities is held each year, during which festival-goers have even more time to meet and talk with the French stars.

André Manoukian is a French songwriter and pianist, born to Armenian parents. He left France for the United States in 1977 to Berklee College of Music, a jazz music school in Boston.
He created his own label, Va Savoir (EMI Group) and signed an album on the prestigious jazz label Blue Notes Records. in 2010, he founded the Cosmojazz festival. He is also a columnist, presenter of radio and television shows. André Manoukian is a member of an internationl bizness club named " French Founders " based in New-York. During Cannes Film Festival 2023, he was at Palm Beach Cannes concerning Music Film Market.
